About Us.

Born in response to restrictive immigration policies and an urgent need for language access in hospitals, we’re a small but mighty team of bilingual doulas. We believe every mother and baby deserves culturally responsive care in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, regardless of income, language, or immigration status.

Our mission and vision

Mission

Mission

Mission

To empower and advocate for underserved, immigrant Spanish-speaking birthing parents by providing culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate doula care. We promote collaboration among birth workers across borders and support the health, rights, and dignity of all people during the perinatal journey. We are committed to mentoring new bilingual doulas, promoting professional growth, and encouraging self-care as a vital tool for long-term resilience and community impact.

Vision

Mission

Mission

A world where all birthing individuals, regardless of language, immigration status, race, or socioeconomic background, have access to respectful, compassionate, and equitable care. We work to dismantle systemic barriers in maternal health through collective action, global solidarity, community leadership, and the nurturing of future generations of doulas.

OUR APPROACH

We believe care extends beyond birth. It is rooted in relationships, cultural connection, shared wisdom, and the communities that sustain us. We bring together holistic care, ancestral wisdom, evidence-based practices, collective healing, mentorship, and collaboration to support families and those who care for them.

1. Holistic Care for Families

We honor the whole person and the many dimensions of the perinatal journey. Through compassionate, culturally responsive doula care, we support families physically, emotionally, and educationally throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We integrate ancestral wisdom, lived experience, and evidence-based best practices to help families feel heard, informed, respected, and supported in their choices.

2. Safe Spaces for Collective Healing

Through our Cinco Lunas Healing Circles, we create welcoming spaces where Spanish-speaking immigrant mothers can pause, connect, and nurture their well-being. Grounded in cultural connection, shared experiences, and collective care, our circles offer opportunities for rest, reflection, healing, and belonging. We draw on holistic wellness practices and trauma-informed approaches to foster supportive environments where every mother can feel seen, heard, and held without judgment.

3. Mentorship & Growing Our Own Doulas

We believe strong communities need supported and connected birth workers. Through mentorship, shared learning, and the exchange of ancestral and professional knowledge, we nurture emerging bilingual doulas, honoring their lived experiences, cultural knowledge, and unique gifts. We encourage the integration of evidence-based best practices into culturally responsive care so more families can access informed, compassionate support in their own language and cultural context.

4. Professional Growth & Sustainable Care

We encourage ongoing learning, skill-building, and professional development to strengthen the quality of care our community provides. By sharing resources, deepening our knowledge, and learning from current evidence and best practices, we support birth workers in growing their skills and confidence. We also recognize that caring for others requires caring for ourselves. Through rest, reflection, and mutual support, we cultivate resilience and help birth workers sustain their work while protecting their own well-being.

5. Collaboration Across States/Borders: Thinking Globally, Acting Locally

We believe meaningful change happens when we connect our local communities to a broader vision of collective care. By building relationships among doulas, midwives, nurses, therapists, healers, and community organizers across borders, we share knowledge, learn from diverse healing traditions, and exchange evidence-based practices. We act locally to address the needs of our communities while working toward a world where culturally rooted, language-accessible, and equitable care is available to all.
